The "La Reine" tourist train is more than just a mode of transport—it is an experience. Its design draws inspiration from the grandeur of the Palace of Queen Nam Phuong, the wife of King Bao Dai, the last ruler of Vietnam’s Nguyen Dynasty (1802–1945). Combining Indochinese and French architectural elements, the train exudes elegance and sophistication. Every detail, from the plush interiors to the technical upgrades, has been thoughtfully curated to offer passengers unparalleled comfort.

For those seeking privacy, the train includes exclusive VIP compartments with 12 seats, making it an ideal choice for families or small groups. Whether travelling with loved ones or seeking a more intimate journey, this setup ensures a cosy and memorable experience.
The "La Reine" is not Vietnam Railways Corporation’s first effort to enhance Da Lat’s rail services. Earlier this year, on 14 Apr 2024, the corporation introduced a nighttime tourist train service, which received a warm reception from travellers. Over the course of 2024, the Da Lat - Trai Mat route has experienced significant growth, with 3,050 trips completed—a 69% increase compared to the previous year. Passenger numbers also soared, reaching 276,567, marking a remarkable 75% year-on-year rise.

This surge reflects the growing allure of Da Lat as a top destination, and "La Reine" is poised to elevate that appeal even further.
The launch of "La Reine" coincides with the vibrant 10th Da Lat Flower Festival, an annual event that transforms the city into a floral wonderland. Held from 5 - 31 Dec 2024, the festival features 45 exciting programs designed to captivate visitors of all ages and interests.
Among the highlights is a spectacular New Year’s music show, where vibrant performances set the stage for a memorable celebration. The festival also hosts an international seminar focusing on green tourism and cultural industries, offering insights into sustainable travel and creative economies.

Well, fellow Muslims can go for tea and coffee. Adding to the festivities, a dazzling flower parade with floats and fashion showcases highlights Da Lat’s reputation as Vietnam’s "City of Flowers."
The train’s launch during the Christmas season adds a festive touch to the celebrations. Nguyen Thai Hoc, acting secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, emphasized its importance in commemorating the flower festival and promoting tourism in the region.
Muslim travellers exploring Da Lat will find the "La Reine" tourist train an excellent way to enjoy this picturesque city while accommodating specific needs. Da Lat is known for its serene environment, making it a perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful retreat. Many halal-friendly restaurants and eateries are available in the city, serving everything from Vietnamese dishes to international cuisines. Nearby mosques and prayer facilities also ensure that spiritual needs are well-catered to.
