Selangor has rolled out the red carpet for travellers with the grand launch of Visit Selangor Year (VSY) 2025, a campaign that promises to be as vibrant and diverse as the state itself. With the tagline "Surprising Selangor", Tourism Selangor, the official tourism promotion agency for the Selangor State Government, aims to attract a staggering 8 million tourists by the end of 2025. And if the launch event is anything to go by, this year-long celebration will be nothing short of unforgettable.

The VSY 2025 campaign kicked off with an extravagant three-day festival on 20 - 22 Dec 2024 at the picturesque Setia City Park, Setia Alam. This vibrant event brought together over 5,000 visitors, offering a lively mix of cultural showcases, culinary delights, and entertainment. From start to finish, the festival radiated the spirit of Selangor—dynamic, welcoming, and full of surprises.
One of the standout moments of the festival was the free-entry concert on 21 Dec, headlined by some of the region’s top artists. Big names like Cakra Khan, Datuk Amy Search, Ameng Spring, Zubir Khan, and Suki Low took to the stage, wowing the crowd with stellar performances. But the real showstopper? The introduction of SPARK the Fireflies, the official mascot for VSY 2025. Adding to the excitement, Aizat Amdan delivered a powerful live performance of the campaign’s theme song, complete with an electrifying flash mob. It was a moment that perfectly captured the energy and ambition of VSY 2025.
The festival wasn’t just about music. Visitors got their pulses racing with a high-energy pound workout, explored a bustling tourism exhibition, and indulged in the Love Food Festival, featuring 70 booths and 60 viral Selangor delicacies. The event ended on a high note with a breathtaking fireworks display, a fitting conclusion to a weekend of celebrations.

The stakes are high for VSY 2025, with the state targeting 8 million tourists and an estimated RM11.7 billion in tourism receipts. Beyond boosting the economy, the campaign is expected to create new job opportunities and cement Selangor’s status as a premier travel destination.
