Central Pattaya is the epicentre of the city. A visit to Pattaya isn’t complete without visiting Pattaya Beach, the city’s largest beach resort. With a four-kilometre stretch of sand, lay your towel on the golden sand and bask in the lovely Thai sunshine. For adrenaline junkies, try parasailing or jet skiing!
Other than spending time on the beach, Muslim travellers could walk along some of Pattaya’s famous road such as Beach Road and Walking Street. Lined with halal restaurants, boutiques and massage parlours, there’s something for everyone! Don’t forget to drop by Central Festival, the largest shopping centre in the city which is a great place for shopping.
Amir Halal Food is one of the most popular halal restaurants in Pattaya. Owned by a Muslim family, the restaurant is known for its fresh seafood dishes. You can’t miss out on their halal Tom Yam Goong when you’re here. Although you might need to wait for quite a bit as the restaurant is usually busy, the food makes up for all the waiting!

If you’re suddenly craving for some fail-safe fried chicken in Pattaya, head down to the KFC outlet at the Royal Garden Pattaya, the only halal-certified one in the city. Conveniently located along Beach Road, you can swing by to grab a bite after a day on the beach.

Following its no-frills name, Halal Food serves up simple Indian, Bengali and Thai dishes at cheap prices. Some of their dishes are Spicy Fried Rice with Basil Leaves, Suki, Oxtail Soup and Curry Beef. Although the owners know little English, they are very friendly and many tourists frequent the humble restaurant.

With its flashy storefront, you can’t help but step through the doors of Ruchi Restaurant. The menu offers Indian cuisines and some local Thai dished. Despite its being a humble roadside eatery, Nada Muslim Restaurant cooks up mouth-watering halal Thai food. As the Naklua district is located in the north of Pattaya, it’s quieter and more peaceful than Central Pattaya. The area is still popular with tourists thanks to its unspoilt beaches. One of the most popular beaches is Phra Chan Beach as it is easily accessible yet not crowded. For a more private beach, the secluded Palm Beach is a great option.
Another perk of being away from the bustle of Central Pattaya is that Naklua district is relatively more budget-friendly. Many tourist attractions are also available here such as that Sukhawadee House, Monster Aquarium and Sanctuary of Truth.
Yet another no-frills restaurant, Thai Halal Restaurant offers customers straightforward delicious Thai dishes. One all-time favourite dish is their amazing Khao Yum Gai Tod (Spicy Fried Chicken with Rice). Other halal dishes on the menu include Beef Soup and Thai Shrimp Noodle.

Simply judging from its name, you would’ve never guessed what Ibnu Musa Halal Food sells! This humble halal eatery has an extensive menu which includes noodles, rice, roti canai and pizza. When you’re here, you need to try some unique pizza flavours such as cheese with sausage, almond and Milo.

Most tourists do not venture out to East Pattaya as its where the most of the city’s housing estates are. But since the Pattaya Train Station is located here, why not explore the east? (For those who are curious, train tickets to Pattaya from Bangkok only costs 31 Baht (~SGD1.40) and the journey takes about 3 hours and 40 minutes.)
Being where most locals are, are some of Pattaya’s hidden gems are nestled in the east! You can buy some cheap souvenirs and snacks from Tesco Lotus or King Power. Some must-buy items are packets of Thai Milk Tea and sachets of Tom Yum powder. There are also plenty of mosques in the area such as Nurulyagreen Mosque, Masjid Sheikh Muhammad Ali and Masjid Anwar As-sunnah.
As you can tell from its name, Muslim Seafood Restaurant serves up some of the freshest seafood you can get in Pattaya. Having been around for almost eight years, this halal restaurant is frequented by both tourists and locals. Some must-try dishes are Steamed Fish, Tom Yum Soup and Crayfish.
